Venue: Istanbul Italian Culture Institute

Dates: November 26-28 2008

Attendance: Throughout the 3 days, between 10.00 am- 10.00 pm, approximately 1000 people attended screenings and other festival events.

Films and Sponsors:

• 25 films, long and short documentaries and animations were screened during the festival.

• Before each film block, the festival presentation video which includes the sponsors’ logos was screened. Before each film the endorsers logo was screened together with the sentence “Sponsored by” (and a thank you note)

• The sponsors’ logos were also placed on 200 outdoor banners and 1100 handouts, distributed in various parts of Istanbul.

Talks: After several of the screenings, talks were held on relevant subjects. These were:

• Thirst, followed by Water,

• Drowned Out, followed by Hasankeyf,

• Aral, followed by From the Shores of Aral

• Semillas Sagradas followed by Seed and Life

• Power Shift followed by Ecologic Footprint

• KW Ours followed by Carbon footprint

Feedback: Overall feedback from the audience was very positive both during and after the festival. The diversity of subject matter and distinctive style of films was appreciated. One main reason for the positive feedback was that the problems pointed out in the films were balanced by the suggested solutions to these problems.

Media: The key media sponsor IZ TV showed the 21 second long TV ad featuring sponsors’ logos, 95 times between November 18-28 . The festival was presented and advertised in various magazines, TV shows, news and radio programs, including NTV, TRT2, Ulusal Kanal, TV24, Tv8, Izmir Kanal 35 and TvNet.
